A Killimicat resident is urging Snowy Valleys Council to act to stop the continued collapse of a bank at Killimicat Creek.

A section of the creek has expanded and curved around, and the resulting bank collapse is taking a fence with it.

The bank collapse is edging it closer to the Brungle Road.

“For the past two years it has been heading closer to the road,” the resident said. “I have informed council many times, and now I have to fix the fence, which it took last year.”

The resident said the recent rainfall had greatly exacerbated the problem.

“Over the last two months the high water has taken a lot out,” he said.

A Snowy Valleys Council spokeswoman confirmed that a complaint had been lodged with council regarding the issue, and that action would be taken.

“A customer action request has been lodged and will go to Snowy Works and Services, who will schedule the required works,” she said.
