The Riding the Disabled centre took a turn for the fancy last Sunday, as they broke out their best China, cutest cupcakes and Sunday best for High Tea in the Paddock.

This was the second incarceration of the novel event, with money raised going towards the Tumut Takes 2 singing team fundraising for the centre – this year being Jimmy Goode and Jemima Saunders.

Jackie Green, who attended the event and also took out ‘Best Dressed Couple’ along with partner Ken Green, said she wouldn’t miss what is fast becoming a well-anticipated highlight of the Tumut Takes 2 fundraisers.

“We’ve had such a lovely day,” she said.

“The service from these girls is just wonderful. And the food just kept flowing!”

Jimmy Goode also said he was pleased with how the day turned out – regardless of a spotting of rain just as the event was wrapping up.

“We had a great turnout and I think we made quite a few dollars!” he said.

“Those that came enjoyed themselves, and there was some excellent cooking from some very dedicated volunteers.”

Money raised by the Tumut Takes 2 pairing will go towards buying new horses for the RDA, after they lost four in the past 18 months.

Jimmy Goode and Jemima Saunders have organised a host of great fundraising activities, with the crown jewel being the Mother’s Day winery weekend.

There are still tickets available for this event, priced at $250, which includes tours of several wineries in the Rutherglen region, overnight accommodation in Wangaratta, a tour of Milawa Cheese, and breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner on the first day and breakfast on the second day.

Bookings can be made through Helloworld, 6947 3055.

But that’s not all Jimmy, Jemima and the RDA have planned.

“We have a breakfast out here at the RDA on May 21, and that’s a ‘bring your Sunday best car’ – so your hot rod or your motorbike or your push bike or your horse and buggy,” Jimmy explained.

“Come out and have a Sunday morning bacon and egg roll and a coffee and then go for your Sunday drive. That’s going to be called Meet, Greet and Eat.

“There’s also a barbecue at Repco on May 27.”

Tumut Takes 2 involves well-known local personalities, like Jimmy, pairing up with a local singer, like Jemima, to perform at a concert to be held over the June long weekend. Each pair fundraises for a charity of their choice.
