Adelong’s Breana Gorman is one of the finalists in the Miss Galaxy Australia pageant, to be held this Saturday night in Surfer’s Paradise.
The winner of the Australian pageant will then be off to compete in the World finals, with flights and accommodation in Florida paid for, along with of course a sash and crown to take home in recognition.
All this excitement is old hat to Breana, however – she was also a finalist in the Miss World Australia pageant last year, and was a contestant on reality TV show Beauty and the Geek in 2012.
As part of the pageant Breana is fundraising for the Make a Wish foundation, and donations can be made online at give.everydayhero.com/au/make-a-wish-miss-galaxy
“On my journey I hope to raise funds for the Make A Wish foundation to help sick children and teenagers to have hope, strength and to experience joy as every child deserves,” she said.
“Help me, help them by making a donation. Thank you!”
Breana, who is 23, describes herself as “compassionate, optimistic, and cheerful,” and said she’s all about keeping herself open to everything life has to offer.
“I believe life should not be scheduled or laid out on a timeline,” she said.
“A lot can change in just a month, let alone five years. I hope to never limit myself to the opportunities that come my way and to continue to grow as a strong, influential woman. Influencing other individuals to live their life to the fullest without barriers is very important to me.”
Breana is an Adelong local but the actor, model and dancer now lives in Queensland, where she won’t have far to travel for the finals at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa.
The Miss Galaxy contest consists of five categories: photographic, interview, fashion wear, swimwear, and evening gown. The contestants must be aged 19 – 29, be Australian residents, and to have never been married.
