Fire stations across the state threw open their doors on Saturday, much to the delight of NSW kids.
Tumut’s Fire and Rescue team was no exception. Our firies helped local kids spray the hose to hit targets, play with the sirens and lights, and climb inside the truck – and doubtlessly there were more than a few adults who enjoyed the opportunity as well.
Meanwhile, in Batlow, the open day coincides with CiderFest. Families combined the apple-oriented day out with teaching their kids about the work of a firefighter, and revellers wearing red helmets mingled with the Apple Tarts.
