The NSW State Emergency Service is warning residents of Tumut and surrounds of wild and wet weather later in the week.
SES spokeswoman Frances Medianik said a cold change was due to hit the Tumut region on Thursday, bringing between 40 and 60mm of rain.
“At this stage, this is only a prediction, and it may not get that bad, but we will be concentrating more resources in the Tumut area,” she said.
“There is potential for a lot of water, and snow down to 1000 metres. We are keeping in contact with the Bureau of Meteorology and we recommended that residents take measures such as preparing higher ground and getting supplies, especially if they are likely to be isolated. Also, monitor the SES Facebook page and Bureau of Meteorology website.”
