The Festival of the Falling Leaf have picked their theme for next year’s event – the 64th iteration of the locally-iconic festival – and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
The committee have selected ‘Tumut, Then & Now’ as the anchor for the 2018 parade, and are looking for contributions.
Dig into the old photo albums and cardboard boxes of random memories, because you may be able to help.
“We’re keen to get some photos of past falling leaf festivals to use in our promotional materials,” they said in a Facebook post.
“Got any photos to share? Parade photos, fireworks, street stalls, etc. The more historical the better. Load us up and let’s have some fun.”
Locals have already gotten in on the action, with Phil Barton sharing a classic shot of the ‘Parktown Autos’ float from the late eighties.
Members of the groups ‘Lost Tumut’ and ‘Tumutians’ have also gotten involved, and will doubtlessly unearth some wonderful blasts from the past.
They can be contacted via their facebook page, ‘Festival of the Falling Leaf.’
